Tiranga Halwa or Tri Color Halwa

One of the famous Indian traditional dessert is Halwa, it is usually made on festive occasions. There are several types of halwas, however this one is a special recipe on Ambedkar Jayanti to celebrate the true spirit of India.

Ingredients

  • For Green Pea Halwa:
  • 1 Cup Green peas puree
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 6 Tbsp Sugar powder
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • Cardamom powder
  • For garnishing, Dry fruits


For Cucumber Halwa:

  • 1 Cup Cucumber
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1 Tbsp Khoya
  • 6 Tbsp Sugar powder
  • 2 tsp Ghee
  • Cardamom powder
  • For garnishing Dry fruits
  • For Carrot Halwa:
  • 1 Cup Carrot (English carrot), grated
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 6 Tbsp Sugar powder
  • 2 Tbsp Ghee
  • Cardamom powder
  • For garnishing Dry fruits

How to

Prepare Green Peas Halwa:

  1. Start by washing and blanching the green peas and run them through water to make a puree.
  2. Now take a pan and start heating it with ghee in it on low flame. Then add the green pea puree in it. Sauté for about 5 minutes. Then add sugar powder, khoya and milk in it. Then stir well, it will become a thick.

  3. Then keep the mixture aside.

Prepare Cucumber Halwa:

  1. Now take a cucumber and peel it. Then grate it and squeeze all the water out.

  2. Now take a pan and start heating ghee on medium heat and then add the cucumber in it, then sauté it for about 5 minutes.

  3. Then add milk and sugar powder in it and stir well. Then in some time the milk will dry up and then add khoya to it. Then keep stirring it, it will come out to be a thick mixture.

  4. Then keep the mixture aside in a separate plate.

Prepare Carrot Halwa:

  1. Take a bowl and grate the carrot in a bowl, then wash it and peel it.

  2. Now take a pan and heat it with ghee in it, do this on medium flame. Then add carrots in it and then sauté for about 5 minutes.
  3. After that add milk and sugar powder according to taste and stir it until it forms a thick mixture.
  4. Then keep this aside, now you have 3 different plates with 3 different halwas, you can put the carrot halwa on top, then the cucumber halwa and then green peas halwa at the bottom.
  5. Your Tiranga Halwa is ready to be served. You can garnish it with dry fruits.
